One Minute Movie Review:
I finished ‘her’ yesterday, as I start to watch all of the academy award contending films.
I didn’t really feel anything for the main characters problems, mostly because he has an awesome pad, and a job most people would kill for. His problems are so cliche and done to death in movies, that it’s impossible to care about him. There are people in the world with far, far worse problems and this guy isn’t starving, overcoming poverty, or in the middle of a war, and life is pretty comfortable for him.
What I really did like was that it was sci-fi, and taking on a theme speculatively. The film did a really good job of taking us through a ‘What if?’ scenario, that does seem completely plausible, given the direction that technology is heading. There aren’t a lot of films done like that lately, and I’d like to see more.
Books that I’ve read this month:
'Lockwood & Co.', by Jonathan Stroud.
'The Warlord of the Air', A Nomad of the Time Streams Novel by Michael Moorcock.
'Land Leviathan', A Nomad of the Time Streams Novel by Michael Moorcock.
'Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story', by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
'Mud, Sweat, and Tears', by Bear Grylls.
Armand says: This is the final page I just finished of Series 3’s 100 page epic fight scene. YESSSSS I’VE FINALLY FINISHED THE FIGHT!!!!!! HAHAHAHA
That’s right, a 100 page epic battle in Gladstone’s School for World Conquerors Volume 3. Just a few more scenes to go and we’re wrapped for art!!!
