So here I am. I finally got a Tumblr. I’m pretty bad at social media stuff but one of my goals lately has been to really push myself in getting myself and my art seen more and more. So along with an Instagram, twitter, and now a Tumblr i journey into the void. See ya out there space cowboys.
I hate to be that guy, but whats the deal with Gladstones, and Amazing Joy Buzzards? I adored both of those books and eagerly await a return.
Gladstone’s is back and we’re into it and far along with it.
Amazing Joy Buzzards didn’t have the support to continue, and never made any money but took up so much time. For me it was a passion, and I always begged Dan to finish the series, but now he’s married, with children, and has to make a living. So it’s impossible for me to ask or beg him to work for free on a book that no one read or supported.
The second volume was 75% completed but I don’t think it will ever come out.
Maybe some good news is that there is a ‘Lost Book’ that I did with a guest artist way back in 2005 and I’m going to release that digitally in sections starting this year once the colors and letters are wrapped.
Once it’s finished, I might try to get a work for hire budget from print, and do an Amazing Joy Buzzards A-Z(ed) book with guest teams doing a story from each country on a world tour and filling in the blanks for those lost adventures we hinted at and referenced in the books.
I think that would be fun, to have new books out, and different teams working on stories. I don’t think I want to return to that world after the ‘Lost Book’ because I’d rather work on something all new, and that was so long ago, that I’m not the same person, and don’t have that same energy or enthusiasm I had when working on it.
